Prof. Dr. med. Rolf Hoffmann

TRICHOLOG was founded in 2001 by Prof. Hoffmann. The initial idea behind
the TrichoScan technology was to allow reproducable measurements of hair
growth. In a world of multiple therapeutic modalities for hair loss it
was a rational need for a precise measurement. This initial vision is
still valid, as the beneficial effect of many treatments for hair loss
is often not validated.

Prof. Hoffmann is the former President of the European Hair Research
Society, ad Dr. Hoffmann interest are in the fields of alopecia,
endocrinology of the hair follicle and hair follicle morphogenesis. He
has published over 100 medical journal articles and contributed to
numerous dermatology text books. Dr Hoffmann received his education in
biochemistry and dermatology at the University of Freiburg, Germany, one
of Europe's top centers for biology research. He is currently a teaching
Professor in the Department of Dermatology for Marburg University and
works also in own private practice Dermaticum.
